About Us
A Word From Jim Edwards
Because of my close association with “askmrchristian.com,” as the web site’s founder and administrator, people often ask me if I am Mr. Christian. My patent answer is “No, absolutely not. Like every other Christian, I’m just a sinner saved by grace.”
I do consider it a real blessing of the Lord to be able, along with other members of Mr. Christian’s research and utility team, to help determine the content of Mr. Christian’s messages and recommendations. I, also, recognize this to be a very grave and sober responsibility. This requires, on my part, much prayer and very careful consideration every day.
To those of you who may be interested in my background, let me, here and now, glorify the Lord by testifying He has been generous and gracious to me all of my life. I was saved by the Lord as a lad ten years of age. The Lord then called me into the ministry when I was seventeen. I was ordained and privileged to begin pastoring churches when I was nineteen. The time I spent preparing sermons and my relationship with the members of the churches where I have pastored has greatly augmented the formal training I received in college and seminary.
Decades spent in close association with many people as their pastor has impressed upon me something of the challenges which the average lay person faces every day. Also, I have become acquainted with the level of understanding the average Christian has and what resources he/she needs to mature as a Christian and become productive and fruitful for the Lord.
After pastoring churches for several decades, I became impressed that the Lord wanted me to help modern-day Christians have assistance in gaining information and guidance for their lives. After much prayer, meditation and consideration, the Lord directed me in putting together the thoughts and aims contained in this web site. The planning and application of these materials would not have come to fruition without the tremendous help of consultants and people with expertise that I did not have. Much credit goes to the various members of Mr. Christian’s outstanding research and utility team.
As we face the challenging future, I am greatly encouraged by the wise Christian who first put together this declaration of hope and assurance, “The task ahead of us is never as great as the Power behind us.”
Amen and Amen.
In Addition
I want to acknowledge my sincere appreciation, especially to my good friend and former neighbor, Kelley Thompson (www.kelleythompson.com) for his tireless and skillful service in designing and setting up this web page and advising me concerning other matters. He, his
wife, Marilyn and their three sons, Shawn, Daniel and Matthew are among the finest Christians I have ever known. I could recommend Kelley to anyone and everyone who
might need help in designing a web site.
